WHAT IT IS: A newsletter that helps you discover popular and off the beaten path places to eat, drink, and travel.

WHY WE LIKE IT: “The One Thing Not Enough People Keep in their Kitchens according to Chefs”; “16 Incredible Islands to Escape to this Year”; and so on. Thrillist offers a newsletter that will entice you to open…just out of curiosity! We always enjoy finding a few new places to travel, eat or drink.

Founded in 2004, this digital media company and lifestyle brand now covers about 45 cities in the U.S. but naturally slants toward the four largest—Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. There are six (and counting) international cities as well including Amsterdam, London, and Paris.

Whether you looking for recommendations for food, travel, and entertainment in your own city or somewhere on your bucket list, you’re sure to discover something new and exciting on Thrillist. We each made trips to visit our respective kids in Seattle recently and were happy to learn about “Seattle’s Best Craft Coffee Shops”, “9 Underrated Seattle Hikes”, and much more.

HOW MUCH IT COSTS: It’s free to subscribe to this newsletter.

NOW, TAKE THE FIRST STEP:  Go to thrillist.com, enter your email, choose your city, and subscribe to receive their daily email. You can also visit the website to get information on all of the cities the company covers including ones you plan to visit. “Get ready to live life to the Thrillist.”
